SHIFT Business Festival is a platform that has brought together C-level decision-makers, business developers, and tech-heads from growth companies across the board since 2016. The highlight of the year is a two-day business festival in Turku, Finland. We encourage and support our festival attendees and partners to find their competitive advantage in new technology applications and sustainable business. Our company is based in Turku and is the most important business event in the region and a solid actor in the local business ecosystem.

SHIFT Business Festival is grounded and owned 100% by the non-profit organization Shift ry, whose aim is to advance businesses to become more future-ready and sustainable together.

The past Event Producers of SHIFT have been able to turn Turku Castle and the old Kakola Prison into modern festival venues. Are you up for the challenge? Your prime purpose is to transform a space into a unique, mesmerizing and lively event venue. Not the traditional “Expo Center Business Event” but something that tickles all senses. You’ll work closely with our Head of Production.

Your role as an Event Production Intern includes:

• Planning and incorporating physical elements to the event site
• Planning and constructing elements that support the visitor flow of the event
• Negotiating with various suppliers to provide the event with all needed necessities
• Making sure everything flows at the event
• Following the existing budget

This position suits well for a:

• Student of art or creative fields (artists, culture producers, event producers)
• A person interested in entertainment, events, and experiences
• Someone wanting to improve their haggling skills

The workload for this internship is around 20-30h/per week. We are mostly looking for people who can work with us from May to the actual event in August. Duration can be negotiated. 

The search is open until the 1st of May but interviews will be going on during the application time and the position will be filled when the right candidate is found.
