Sirpa Pietikäinen

Sirpa Pietikäinen is a Finnish Member of the European Parliament, representing the European People’s Party (EPP) since 2008. Sirpa has a long career as a politician, as she was first elected to the Finnish Parliament in 1983. From 1991 to 1995, she held the position of Minister of Environment.

Among her many duties at the European Parliament, Sirpa is a member of the Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee (ECON) and currently actively working towards more sustainable finance within the EU. As the current key positions of trust, she is a Member of the Board at Kone Oyj, Fortum Advisory Council, and Lammi Savings Bank.

At SHIFT 2020, Sirpa will be talking about resource efficiency in the session If growth is broken, we need to explore other options.

 

SHIFT’s climate partner Chooose has agreed to offset the speaker’s CO2 emissions for six months, including their participation to SHIFT 2020.
