Markus Varsikko started his career in the dawn of the commercial internet in 1998 and the search engine Altavista. After selling his first company to a global media-agency holding group in 2012, he was the Managing Director for their performance advertising in the Europe, Middle-East, and Africa region. That position offered him an exceptional view over the marketplace developments in 29 markets and this is where he identified the influence of Amazon.
For the past 5 years, Markus has been focused on Amazon’s developments making him one of the most sought after experts in retail in the Nordic region. Currently, Markus manages a consultancy focused on helping Nordic brands and manufacturers on-board to Amazon platform successfully.
At SHIFT 2020, Markus will focus on how Amazon will change the Nordic retail landscape in the coming years, and how one can prepare for it.
