Fabien Vieau

Regional Director - Datacenter, Energy and Sustainability, Google

Fabien Vieau is the Regional Director in charge of Energy, Data Center Strategy, and Datacenter Sustainability for EMEA. His current responsibilities include data center capacity sourcing, site selection, site development, utility infrastructure negotiations, as well as related business development activities, real-estate asset management, and carbon-free energy and sustainability initiatives.

Fabien joined Google in 2010, initially as part of the network business development team (optic fiber infrastructure, submarine cables, etc) before focusing on data centers and more recently carbon-free energy and sustainability. Prior to joining Google, Fabien spent eight years in the telecommunications and encryption industries.

Fabien holds an MSc in Theoretical Physics from the University of Sheffield (UK), an MSc in Management from the University Pierre & Marie Curie (Paris, France), and a BS in Psychology from the University of Saint-Denis (France).

At SHIFT 2020, Fabien will talk about Google carbon reduction & renewable energy achievements as well as Google Carbon free ambition.

 

SHIFT’s climate partner Chooose has agreed to offset the speakers’ CO2 emissions for six months, including their participation to SHIFT 2020.
