ANDREI ALÉN (FINLAND)

ACTOR, DIRECTOR, PRODUCER

Andrei is a Finnish film actor, director, and producer.

Andrei produced the world’s first carbon-negative feature film The Wait, which was filmed in the Finnish archipelago. The Wait is a story about a woman who undergoes an enormous emotional battle between sense and passion. A visitor from the past triggers the events of a compelling love story.

While the characters of The Wait portray a sustainable way of living, the entire production was carbon negative and carried out in an ethical and sustainable manner. The producers were collaborating with Compensate, a Finnish nonprofit combating climate change, in calculating and compensating the footprint of the production.

Andrei has lived in London for many years and went to East 15 Acting School. Andrei is known for acting in “The Unknown Soldier” directed by Aku Louhimies.

At SHIFT Andrei will talk about sustainable film production.
