Sini Toivonen Is the New CEO of SHIFT – The New Chief Has a Strong SHIFT Background

Sini Toivonen, 31, has been chosen as the new CEO of SHIFT Business Festival. Toivonen starts in the position in October, as the previous CEO Mari Männistö goes on parental leave. Toivonen has previously worked as an account director at a digital marketing and event agency in Helsinki. She has also lived in San Francisco, where she worked with startups and tech companies.

“SHIFT is the only one out of the international growth company events in Finland that, instead of canceling, has created a hybrid event that offers networking possibilities and experiences to its visitors this year. Our goal is that the visitors of SHIFT have a good opportunity to create something new and succeed in the future. At SHIFT, I’d like to see discussions on topics we need to talk about with people we have not met before” Toivonen says.

“Sini was one of the first volunteer SHIFTers in 2015, when the concept of the event was first being developed. Later, she has worked as the sales and marketing manager at SHIFT. She has a good local and international network, which gives her excellent tools for developing SHIFT in the upcoming years. We think that Sini is capable of raising SHIFT to another level” says Joonas Suominen, the chair of the board of SHIFT Events Oy.

The 5-year-old SHIFT challenges companies to develop a more sustainable business in regards to the economy, people, and the environment. For SHIFT, it is of utmost importance to offer people and businesses a space to meet and get inspired, even as we are in the middle of a turning point. In the upcoming years, SHIFT will continue to be an event where its possible to discuss the future and create and deepen business relationships.
