Nick Bostrom is the founding Director of Future Humanity Institute at Oxford University, the research center with a multidisciplinary team of experts working on the big-picture questions for humanity. His book “Superintelligence: Paths, Dangers, Strategies” (2014) argues that the doomsday scenario where superintelligent AI exposes an existential risk to the humanity, can be avoided by making an effort now.

Bostrom is an extraordinary polymath – he has earned degrees in physics, philosophy, mathematical logic, neuroscience, artificial intelligence, and philosophy.  He has authored about 200 publications. Nick has also received the Eugene R Gannon Award, he has been featured on Foreign Policy’s Top 100 Global Thinkers list twice, among numerous other global recognitions for his work.

Nick has also been included on Prospect magazine’s World Thinkers list, the youngest person in the top 15 from all fields and the highest-ranked analytic philosopher. His writings have been translated into 22 languages. There have been more than 100 translations and reprints of his works.
