Bringing People and Brands Closer to Everyday Climate Action

Bringing people and brands closer to everyday climate action

They wanted to make climate protection part of people’s everyday lives. So they did. With sophisticated APIs and new technology solutions, climate-tech company CHOOOSE makes it simple to integrate trusted climate action into any touchpoint where brands engage with consumers.

“We say goodbye to the legacy of carbon offsetting by introducing a new, better, and more impactful way of doing things. Climate protection can’t be seen as something we do once in a while to feel good about ourselves. For it to work, it has to become a natural part of people’s everyday lives and doings”, says Andreas Slettvoll, CEO at CHOOOSE.

Andreas Slettvoll, CEO

Born out of Oslo, Norway, climate-tech company CHOOOSE was recently named one of Europe’s hottest scale-ups at this year’s Tech5 by Ayden and The Next Web. Back in 2018, they became the first Nordic company to reach the prestigious top 10 in Sir Richard Branson’s Extreme Tech Challenge.

We start our day by asking why it is so hard for modern consumers to make climate-friendly choices. Then we spend the rest of the day working to fix it.

No more friction

CHOOOSE builds climate tools to integrate trusted climate compensation anywhere brands engage with consumers. Through elegant and simple API integrations, CHOOOSE enables merchants to offer seamless climate compensation (like a verified carbon offset) at any digital touchpoint.

“We start our day by asking why it is so hard for modern consumers to make climate-friendly choices. Then we spend the rest of the day working to fix it. We believe friction plays a vital role because it equals inaction in a time where action is needed more than anything. Our technology is built on eliminating any form of friction that blocks us from taking action”, Slettvoll says.

With friction out of the equation, CHOOOSE enables partners to spend time on what really matters: driving impact. From a curated portfolio of impactful climate projects, brands can simply select and offer the type of climate compensation that fits with their corporate and consumer preferences.

“The freedom of choice is key, as many brands use the Sustainable Development Goals as a compass when building their sustainability strategies. Allowing our partners to select their climate projects from SDG goals that are aligned with their values and strategies, enables them to measure their positive impact based on the realization of the SDGs they are supporting”, Slettvoll says.

The common lack of tools to integrate seamless climate programs is often followed by the lack to track, understand, and communicate the impact these programs create.

The all-in-one climate tool

According to Slettvoll, the common lack of tools to integrate seamless climate programs is often followed by the lack to track, understand, and communicate the impact these programs create. CHOOOSE’s answer to the challenge is a logged-in experience where both brands and their customers can engage with their positive impact.

“CHOOOSE provides our partners with a logged-in experience to track, report, and analyze program performances across any integrated channel. The digital portal lets them understand and engage with their impact and relate to the climate projects they are investing in. We also engage directly with consumers, offering a place to view and share the climate impact from their personal actions and interactions with a brand, experience, or event”, Slettvoll says.
