Rasmus Valanko is the Director for Corporate Responsibility at Kemira. It’s a global chemicals company serving customers in water-intensive industries. Kemira provides expertise, application know-how and chemicals that improve customers’ product quality, process and resource efficiency.

Prior to joining Kemira in early 2018, Rasmus led the Climate & Energy program at the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD). He has also worked for Royal Dutch Shell on global climate change and CO2policy as well as their alternative energies strategy.

Rasmus began his career working for the Ministry of Environment on multilateral environmental agreements. He brings a wealth of knowledge on sustainability from private, public and NGO sectors and believes in the power of collaboration to find innovative solutions to some of the most complex challenges faced by society today. Besides Finland, he has lived in Switzerland, France, The Netherlands and the UK for a combined 22 years and gained a global perspective through several global roles.
