This page is your guide to a successful SHIFT experience. We will update here literally everything and anything you need to know about the festival. Reading this carefully and adding the page to your bookmarks is strongly recommended. Like really.

Tickets are exchanged for badges at the entrance. To enter our event venue Visitor Centre Joki and claim your badge, you need the QR code on the ticket sent to you via e-mail (attached to your confirmation message), so do not lose it. You may even want to save it to your camera roll to have it easily available. All tickets to SHIFT are personal and your badge will be named.

If you can’t find your ticket in your inbox, please check your spam filter and if you are still out of luck, contact info@theshift.fi.

All SHIFT tickets are personal and non-refundable. However, you can assign your ticket to another person if it turns out you are not able to join the festival.

Are you ready to find your perfect business match? Better be, the matchmaking starts already on the 14th of August! Brella is a networking tool that allows you to schedule 1:1 meetings with the most relevant attendees at SHIFT.

Brella’s AI-powered matchmaking algorithm provides you with a personalized and curated list of relevant attendees to meet to help you achieve success! In addition to scheduling meetings at the event, you can create your own schedule by choosing your favorite keynotes and workshops from the program. Also, check out the virtual booths of our partner companies!

Here are 4 easy steps to get started with Brella.

Step 1: Get your event app
Download the Brella app on the App Store or Google Play. 

Step 2: Join the platform and create your profile
Create your account and profile. Then enter the event using your invite link – this is sent to you via email on the 23.5. and/or as part of your ticket confirmation message (Executive ticket holders will get the invite link already 16.5.). Please note, that the email is the same one you used for purchasing your ticket!  You can choose the interests that reflect your own to provide the AI-powered algorithm with the best information.

Step 3: Book a meeting with your first match
Once you complete your profile, you’ll see your recommended matches right away. Select a profile, choose an available time and send a meeting request to start the discussion. We have provided a designated matchmaking space with tables at the event for your meetings. Of course, you can always invite someone for lunch or after party drinks!

Step 4: Show up on the event day for amazing content and relevant 1:1 meetings!

If you have any questions or problems with signing up or logging into Brella, please try finding the answer from Brella’s Help Center or contact the customer service by submitting a help request!

Brella matchmaking will be opened for all ticket holders on the 23rd of May, for Executive and VIP Pass holders on the 16th of May. Early bird catches the best meetings!

Please use the main entrance on Lemminkäisenkatu where you will get your visitor badge. 

Train
Kupittaa train station is a three minute walk from the venue.

Bus
City bus lines 32, 32A, 42, 6, 600, 60 and 221 take you to Turku Science Park, where Visitor Centre Joki is located. The nearest public transport stops are located on Lemminkäisenkatu (DataCity) and Tykistökatu (Tykistökatu). You can find more about public transport in Turku here.

Bike & scoot
There are marked bicycle parks around Turku Science Park and scoots bring you all the way to the venue. Please take care, that you do not block the pedestrian streets when you park.

Car
You can find some paid street parking spaces nearby or, for example, use the big parking spaces located in the BioCity parking garage. The entrance to the parking garages is located in Joukahaisenkatu. There are two outdoor parking areas along Lemminkäisenkatu, Tahkonaukio parking area (Lemminkäisenkatu 9) and EduCity parking area (Lemminkäisenkatu 22-24). In addition, there are some individual parking spaces along Lemminkäisenkatu. Note that the parking garages and areas are paid parking.

Tapahtuma-alueen lähin hotelli on Original Sokos Hotel Kupittaa, joka sijaitsee vain parin sadan metrin kävelyetäisyydeltä Turun Tiedepuistosta. Kaiken lisäksi hotellille on Kupittaan rautatieasemalta sisäyhteys ja autolla huristat suoraan hotellin parkkihalliin.

SHIFT’s epic after party will be held after the first festival day 29rd of May. The festival area spreads around both outdoors and indoors – Jussinaukio outdoors will be filled with food stands, drink bars, lounge areas and the main stage – please note, that no umbrellas are allowed, so be prepared with a rain coat in case of rain! The whole area is K18, no own drinks allowed.

1. Do the matchmaking thing

Signing up for the matchmaking system is a smart thing to do. Along with a list of attendees and partner company information, our full timetable is there. You can start setting up meetings on the 23rd of May already! 

2. Plan ahead

Get the most out of the event and forge out your plan before you arrive. Check out the program and don’t forget some of the sessions beed pre-booking. There is a lot going on – take time to study the program and pick your favorites!

3. Beware of the Finnish weather

We love for you to look your best. However, while you can enjoy the DJ and bar inside Joki during the after party, the live concerts take place outdoors. The outdoor area also provides a fun selection of food and drink stands. So for a full experience, please be prepared for hail, rain, and sunshine and dress accordingly. High heels are forbidden. Yes, forbidden. You will thank us later.

4. Don’t risk your or anyone else’s health

The health and safety of you and other attendees is our priority. If you are feeling sick, we kindly ask you to stay home. Remember, that you can transfer your ticket to somebody else should you not be able to make it.

5. Code of conduct

We have zero tolerance for discrimination and harassment.
